Most people now define being wealthy as having the financial independence to enjoy life.
For some, that means planning for a retirement filled with more joy than a woman in a yogurt commercial.
For others, wealth means being able to set their kids up to take over the world; or buying a house that would make Joanna Gaines weep at its beauty.
I’m here to help line your money up with what your heart wants to do.
Valkyrie Financial exists to raise millennial women to the next level with their money.
MEET YOUR FINANCIAL PLANNER
I’m helping Millennials take control of their financial lives without sacrificing lattes or avocado toast.
Helping you figure out what you want in life and getting your money in line with those dreams is what LIGHTS. ME. UP.
It is the reason I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professional. And I’m doing it while making personal finance less intimidating.
Why does the CFP® designation matter?
The CFP® designation is one of the most difficult and comprehensive financial certificates professionals can earn.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ professionals must study for and pass a rigorous exam, continuously learn more about the field, and maintain ethical requirements. It means I need to always put your needs before my own — what is called the “fiduciary” standard — and be up to date on what is going on in the world.
Only about 29% of registered financial advisors have earned the right to call themselves CFP® professionals.
And of those, only 23% are women.
Do that math and you’ll find there are only 6.67% other advisors like me (insert hair toss here).
If you’re wondering how to make your money work for your dreams, you gotta reach out to me.
From budgeting to investing, I’ll guide you to financial confidence.
I develop long-term relationships with my clients to understand your unique situation and present recommendations to fit you.
I firmly believe everyone should be able to access good financial advice.
That’s why I set up my coaching services as flat-fee subscriptions.
Most financial advisors will only talk to you after you have thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of dollars they can invest for you.
Yet, most big financial decisions happen before we accumulate investable assets; getting married, buying a house, having a baby are all really important decisions that have a huge effect on your finances!
Today’s generation of kick-ass ladies deserves so much more than some middle-aged white guy in a suit dictating what you should do with your money.
- You deserve so much more than being chastised for spending “too much”.
- You deserve someone who will help you find the balance between life now and your dreams later.
- You deserve someone who acknowledges your power and encourages you to use it.
I’ll translate the financial jargon
into plain ol’ English for you!
I’ll always remind you that there are no stupid questions when it comes to your money, and meet you wherever you’re at in your personal finance journey.
Isn’t that refreshing?
In my spare time you can find me…
passionately advocating for women’s rights.
I currently hold a seat on the board of the Women’s Fund for the Fox Valley Region
burning off my extra energy
through kickboxing (I can kick you in the face. FEAR ME!), strength training, running, and/or cross-country skiing.
All this activity is necessary because I bake the most amazing desserts; ask nicely and I might share a piece!
WHAT DOES VALKYRIE MEAN?
The name “Valkyrie” (pronounced “VAL-ker-EE”) comes from Norse mythology.
Valkyries were a group of female warrior deities, often shown with wings. They chose and guided the heroic souls who would ascend to the Norse afterlife. In a modern age where many mythological females have been softened, the stories of the Valkyries remains fierce and respected.
I’ve always thought naming a business after myself was a bit pretentious. After all, you care a hell of a lot less about my name and a hell of a lot more about how I can help you.
That’s where the valkyries come in: they are strong warrior women who lift others up to a better world.
